چکیده
T s e d a c w m bstract his study assessed the apical leakage of ultrasonically ondensed root fillings in extremely large canals, comared to cold lateral condensation and thermoplastic ompaction. Ninety single-rooted teeth were used. In 5 teeth canals were enlarged to size 70 (large). The emaining 45 canals were enlarged to size 140 (exremely large). Each set of teeth was subdivided into hree root-filling groups (n 15): (1) cold lateral ondensation (LC); (2) thermoplastic compaction (TC); nd (3) ultrasonic lateral condensation (UC). Teeth in all ix subgroups were subjected to drawing ink penetraion, cleared, and evaluated for linear apical dye leakge. Significantly deeper dye penetration (p 0.04, ilcoxon rank-sum test) was observed for LC than for C. TC did not differ significantly from LC and UC. Dye enetration was significantly deeper (p 0.0001) in anals enlarged to size 140 than to size 70, indepenent of root-filling method. Apical leakage associated ith ultrasonically condensed root fillings was less than hat with cold lateral condensation. It was consistently reater in extremely large canals than that in large nes. Background and Aim: Today several materials have been used for root- end filling in endodontic surgery. Optimal properties of Pro Root MTA in in-vitro and in-vivo studies has been proven. On the other hand, based on some studies, Root MTA (Iranian Pro Root MTA) and Portland cement are similar to Pro Root MTA in physical and biologic properties. The aim of this study was to evaluate bacterial le...

OBJECTIVE This study was performed to determine in vitro the short- and long-term sealing ability of a recently developed silicon-based root canal filling material (Gutta-Flow). STUDY DESIGN Sixty human upper central incisors were divided into 3 groups (n = 20). The root canals were instrumented and obturated with laterally compacted gutta-percha and AH26 sealer (group 1), continuous-wave the...

BACKGROUND One ideal property of a root-end filling material is its apical sealing ability. The aim of this in vitro study was to assess bacterial and dye microleakage of white and gray mineral trioxide aggregate (WMTA and GMTA), Portland cement and calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement used as root-end filling material, and to assess the agreement between these two test methods. MATERIALS AN...
